Listen to your child read every night. Discuss the books that he or she is reading and ask them questions about the book. Have them retell what they just read.

How do I access the math lessons on Pearson?

Your child has their own username and password. Please follow the link on the "Learning Links" tab to access and review the math lessons taught in class.

What is BYOD?

BYOD means "Bring Your Own Device". Students can bring electronic communication devices such as ipads, to school at their own risk, just like any other personal item. The district can not be held accountable for any electronic device that is lost, stolen, or misplaced.

It is not mandatory for students to bring a device. Devices are used to enhance learning in the classroom, students without a personal device will be provided access to an appropriate district-owned device based on availability or will be provided with an alternative way of completing the assignment.

All devices must use the school wide wireless network and come protected and charged.  The filtered wireless network is for the safety of all our students.  Students can not share personal devices with other students.

What is study hall?

Students go to study hall during recess when they are not finished with an assignment after plenty of class time was given. If your child is absent, they MAY need to go to study hall to catch up on the lessons they missed. They will be given every opportunity to catch up on missed work during class.  This helps to keep them from falling behind and to continue to be successful at school.

My child is struggling in math. What can I do?

There are various math websites that you can find by clicking on "Learning Links".  These include XtraMath to help with math facts, Pearson math to review lessons and Dreambox for all areas.

It is my child's birthday! Can I bring something in to celebrate?

Yes! If you would like to send in a treat for the entire class to enjoy on your child's birthday, please let me know in advance so I can plan accordingly.  If your child has a summer birthday, we will celebrate his/her half birthday.  Class birthdays will be celebrated at the end of the day, so treats can be dropped off in the office or brought oschool.
